The Council Affairs Office comprises of the Council Secretariat and General Administration. The office has responsibility for serving as the Secretariat of the University Governing Council and its Committees and providing hospitality to Council members.

The Unit is saddled with functions that include the following:

  • assisting the Registrar and Secretary to Council in servicing Council and its Committees;
  • rn

  • preparing briefs for Registrar on policy matters, and speeches for the Pro-Chancellor eg.convocation speech.

  • preparation of agenda and papers for meetings of Council, Finance and General Purposes Committee and Tenders Board.

    rn
  • conveying all decisions of Council and its various Committees such as the Finance and General Purposes Committee and the Tenders Board to relevant organs of the University

  • preparing the Digest of Council Decisions after each meeting of Council.
  • rn
  • arranging hospitality and other welfare services for the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council and other members of Council;and
  • rn
  • leading Council procession and full participation at the University’s annual convocation ceremonies.
